Marsh and forestland in autumn colours
In the Laponia Visitor Centre Jiellevárre/Gällivare we exhibit part of Laponia: Muddus/Muttos National Park and the nature reserves Sjávnja and Stubbá. In the exhibition we tell of how people have lived here for thousands of years and how the area has developed up to the present day. This land is also the workplace of forest Sámi, where autumn is the busiest time. In the exhibition you can follow both hunting, bull slaughter and berry picking.
Laponia Visitor Centre Jiellevárre is on the upper floor in the travel centre at the train station. The personnel in the tourist information office can tell you more. You can also book guided tours with them.
